Dependent Origination

No one and nothing can free you but your own understanding. - Ajahn Chah

Nothing exists entirely on its own. Every event, every object, every thought, and every moment arises because countless causes and conditions come together. What appears permanent is often only a temporary meeting point of invisible forces. Change one condition, and the outcome changes. Remove the supporting causes, and the effect disappears.

This principle, known in Buddhist philosophy as Dependent Origination (Pratītyasamutpāda), suggests that reality is not made of isolated things, but of relationships an ever-changing web of causes giving rise to effects. It invites us to see existence not as fixed, but as a continuous process of becoming.

If nothing truly stands alone, what does that reveal about the nature of reality? – A Facebook post by ‘Dark Wisdom’
