The Teachings of the Buddha

Live in your heart. Seek the highest consciousness. Let go of winning and losing. Live in joy, in love, even among those who hate. Look within. Be still. Free from fear and attachment, know the sweet joy of the way. – Buddha

Your body is precious. It is your vehicle for awakening. Treat it with care. - The Buddha

A victor only breeds hatred, while a defeated man lives in misery, but a man at peace within lives happily, abandoning up ideas of victory and defeat. - The Buddha

All beings tremble before violence. All fear death, all love life. See yourself in others. Then whom can you hurt? What harm can you do? - Buddha

Delusions, errors and lies are like huge, gaudy vessels, the rafters of which are rotten and worm-eaten, and those who embark in them are fated to be shipwrecked. - The Buddha

Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. - Buddha

If you want wisdom, empty your heart of ignorance. If you want contentment, empty your heart of greed. If you want serenity, empty your heart of ill will. - Buddha

From craving arises sorrow, from craving arises fear, but he who is freed from craving has no sorrow and certainly no fear. - The Buddha

As a wise man tests gold on a touch-stone, heating and cutting, so you, monks should test my words by practice, and not accept them simply due to the reverence to me. - The Buddha

Nothing is, everything is becoming. There is no present – only change. - Unknown
