Teachings of the Buddha

Buddhism is simple and factual. It is a universal teaching that can be understood by all people. That is why the Teachings of the Buddha is referred to as a philosophy of Life.

However many holy words you read, however many you speak, what good will they do you if you do not act on upon them? - The Buddha

He who looks for me, that is, through any material form, or seeks me through any audible sound, that man has entered on an erroneous course, and shall never behold the Buddha. - The Buddha

Work out your own salvation. Do not depend on others. - The Buddha

Happily do we live, benevolent amongst the hateful, amidst hateful men, we live benevolent. - The Buddha

If a viper lives in your room and you wish to have a peaceful sleep, you must first chase it out. - The Buddha

A heart untouched by worldly things, not swayed by sorrow, passionless and secure – that is the greatest blessing. - Buddha

Blessed are they who earn their livelihood in a way that brings hurt or danger to no living thing. - The Buddha

You cannot travel the path until you have become the path itself. - Buddha

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense. - The Buddha
