Not only are we in the universe, the universe is in us. I don’t know of any deeper spiritual feeling than what that brings upon me. - Neil deGrasse Tyson

The universe is like our body, The Cosmos in our hand. Nebulous, formless they remain Manifested in forms without end. - Shao Yong
We are the cosmos made conscious and life is the means by which the universe understands itself. - Brian Cox
When you reach for the stars, you are reaching for the farthest thing out there. When you reach deep into yourself, it is the same thing, but in the opposite direction. If you reach in both directions, you will have spanned the universe. - Vera Nazarian
The universe continually sends us sensory messages, which we can never quite decode. - Susan Hubbard

Science is a systematic approach to understanding the natural world through observation, experimentation, and the development of testable explanations. It's a way of acquiring knowledge about how the world works, from the smallest particles to the largest galaxies.

Science may be weird and incomprehensible – more weird and less comprehensible than any theology – but science works. It gets results. It can fly you to Saturn, slingshotting you around Venus and Jupiter on the way. We may not understand quantum theory (heaven knows, I don't), but a theory that predicts the real world to ten decimal places cannot in any straightforward sense be wrong. - Richard Dawkins
It is not what the man of science believes that distinguishes him, but how and why he believes it. His beliefs are tentative, not dogmatic; they are based on evidence, not on authority or intuition. - Bertrand Russell
In essence, science is a perpetual search for an intelligent and integrated comprehension of the world we live in. - Cornelius Bernardus Van Neil
Science is simply common sense at its best – that is, rigidly accurate in observation, and merciless to fallacy in logic. - Thomas Huxley
Just because science doesn't know everything doesn't mean you can fill in the gaps with whatever fairy tale most appeals to you. - Dara O'Brien

We meditate to find, to recover, to come back to something of ourselves we once dimly and unknowingly had and have lost without knowing what it was or when we lost it. We may call it access to more of our human potential or being closer to ourselves and to reality, or to more of our capacity for love and zest and enthusiasm, or our knowledge that we are a part of the universe and can never be alienated or separate from it, or our ability to see and function in reality more effectively.

When you have achieved a state of deep meditation, you unlock the door to your subconscious mind. That is where your power to create the life you desire lies. - Adrian Calabreso
Meditation tends to free a great deal of energy that is usually tied up in various kinds of mental and emotional tensions. When these tensions are released we have more energy available to live full and creative lives. - Unknown
Meditation develops the capacity to question your mind. Without it, you are at the mercy of every thought, every desire, every wave of emotion. - Geneen Roth
Suffering occurs when people are enslaved by their thoughts. Meditation teaches one to let them go like one’s breath. - Venerable Hyon Gak
Meditation brings wisdom. Know well what leads you forward and what hold you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom. - Buddha

No one owns the truth, no person, no prophet, and no holy book. Each of those and, indeed, each person has the ability, the right, and the responsibility to seek and find his or her own truth, and, if found, it may be a truth for that moment, in that situation, and for that person only. - Unknown
Truth resides in every human heart, and one has to search for it there, and to be guided by truth as one sees it. But no one has a right to coerce others to act according to his own view of truth. - Mahatma Gandhi
Truth has power. And if we all gravitate toward similar ideas, maybe we do so because those ideas are true... written deep within us. And when we hear the truth, even if we don't understand it, we feel that truth resonate within us... vibrating with our unconscious wisdom. Perhaps the truth is not learned by us, but rather, the truth is re-called... re-membered... re-cognized... as that which is already inside us. - Dan Brown
Truth is both the way and the goal, the direction to the destination and the destination itself. - Unknown
On the face of it, it must be a bad cause which will not bear discussion. Truth seeks light instead of shunning it. - Horace Mann

The mind grows by what it feeds on. It will always believe everything you tell it. Feed it hope. Feed it the truth. Feed it with love. You have power over your mind – not outside events. When you are able to control your mind, you will be free. Realize this, and you will find strength. We have to nurture our mind with positive thoughts. A negative mind will never give you a positive life.

What shall I compare it to, this fantastic thing I call my Mind? To a waste-paper basket, to a sieve choked with sediment, or to a barrel full of floating froth and refuse? No, what it is really most like is a spider's web, insecurely hung on leaves and twigs, quivering in every wind, and sprinkled with dewdrops and dead flies. And at its centre, pondering forever the Problem of Existence, sits motionless the spider-like and uncanny Soul. - Logan Pearsall Smith
Control of the mind is the key to happiness. It is the kind of virtue and the force behind all true achievement. It is owing to lack of control that various conflicts arise in man’s mind. If he is to control them, he must learn not to give free rein to his longings and inclinations and should try to live a self-governed, pure and calm life. - K. Sri Dhammananda
It’s all in your mind. Whatever you hold in your mind will tend to occur in your life. If you continue to believe as you have always believed, you will continue to act as you have always acted. If you continue to act as you have always acted, you will continue to get what you have always gotten. If you want different results in your life or your work, all you have to do is change your mind. - Unknown

Compassion asks us to go where it hurts, to enter into the places of pain, to share in brokenness, fear, confusion, and anguish. Compassion challenges us to cry out with those in misery, to mourn with those who are lonely, to weep with those in tears. Compassion requires us to be weak with the weak, vulnerable with the vulnerable, and powerless with the powerless. Compassion means full immersion in the condition of being human. - Henri J. M Mouwen
Compassion hurts. When you feel connected to everything, you also feel responsible for everything. And you cannot turn away. Your destiny is bound with the destinies of others. You must either learn to carry the Universe or be crushed by it. You must grow strong enough to love the world, yet empty enough to sit down at the same table with its worst horrors. - Andrew Boyd
True benevolence, or compassion, extends itself through the whole of existence and sympathizes with the distress of every creature capable of sensation. - Joseph Addison
Be kind to people whether they deserve your kindness or not. If your kindness reaches the deserving, good for you. If your kindness reaches the undeserving, take joy in your compassion. - James Fadiman
Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living beings, man will not himself find peace. - Albert Schweitzer

I embrace Buddhism for its philosophy of Life, not a religion.
What I like about Buddhism is that it is philosophical, factual, practical and easy to understand. No dramas, no confusing big words. Most importantly, it doesn’t demand blind faith. You are invited to explore, to test the theories, the Teachings of the Buddha. Only when you are satisfied and find them to be true, then you believe them. You are free to reject them if you are not satisfied beyond a reasonable doubt.
Image from the internet
Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.
If you judge by yourselves – these actions are demeritorious, these are wrong, these are despised by the wise and these are conducive to the prejudice and grief of him who commits them – then do shun them. If you judge by yourselves – these actions are meritorious, these are right, these are praised by the wise, these are conducive to well-being for the happiness of him who performs them – then act accordingly.
Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honour for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.
Therefore, be ye lamps unto yourselves, be a refuge to yourselves. Hold fast to Truth as a lamp; hold fast to the truth as a refuge. Look not for a refuge in anyone beside yourselves. And those, who shall be a lamp unto themselves, shall betake themselves to no external refuge, but holding fast to the Truth as their lamp, and holding fast to the Truth as their refuge, they shall reach the topmost height.

There are times when I think religion has its use. Some people need help to deal with the daily demands of life, and religion helps them keep their sanity. Even if it means believing in something that is unprovable. But then, that thinking is also flawed. People could have been taught to be self-reliant. This will help them keep in touch with reality instead of being fatalistic, depending on some imaginary image.

Organized religion has too often followed the road of other people's institutions. It has made adjustments, compromises, and surrenders to a materialistic civilization for the benefit of material security in spite of occasional twinges of conscience and moral protests. The result has been that today much of organized religion is materialistically solvent but spiritually bankrupt. - Saul Alinsky
It is your organized religions that have made it clear through their most sacred scriptures that cruelty and killing is an acceptable response to human frailty and human differences. This goes against every human instinct, but organized religion has reorganized human thoughts. Some humans have even been turned against their own instinct for survival. And so people go around maiming and killing each other, because they've been told quite directly that this is what God does to them – and what God wants them to do to each other. - Neale Donald Walsch
There are things about organized religion which I resent. Christ is revered as the Prince of Peace, but more blood has been shed in His name than any other figure in history. You show me one step forward in the name of religion and I'll show you a hundred retrogressions. Remember, they were men of God who destroyed the educational treasures at Alexandria, who perpetrated the Inquisition in Spain, who burned the witches at Salem. Over 25,000 organized religions flourish on this planet, but the followers of each think all the others are miserably misguided and probably evil as well. - Frank Sinatra
Most organized religions are control systems to mentally and spiritually enslave humans and deprive them of freewill. - Montalk
