Yin Yang - The Taoism Symbol

Tao, or Dao – literally, means the ‘Way’.
The most well-known symbol from Taoism is certainly the Chinese yin yang. The yin yang is a symbolic representation of the world's polarities, dualisms, and fundamental dichotomies: light and dark, male and female, life and death.

The Taoist symbol can be used to explain Life in this way. In life, nothing is totally good, or totally bad. In the good, there is a little bad. In the bad, there is a little good. Life is about how you balance the good and the bad.

Everything comes from That which cannot be named nor described because it its beyond man’s comprehension; but for convenience it is called Tao. - Lao Tzu

Tao in the world is like a river flowing home to the sea. - Lao Tsu

Science

Image from the internet

What do you think science is? There's nothing magical about science. it is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. Which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic? - Dr. Steven Novella

At the heart of science is an essential balance between two seemingly contradictory attitudes – an openness to new ideas, no matter how bizarre or counterintuitive they may be, and the most ruthless sceptical scrutiny of all ideas, old and new. This is how deep truths are winnowed from deep nonsense. - Carl Sagan

Science is an attempt, largely successful, to understand the world, to get a grip on things, to get a hold of ourselves, to steer a safe course. Microbiology and meteorology now explain what only a few centuries ago was considered sufficient cause to burn women to death. - Carl Sagan

Meditation

Meditation may significantly reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and pain, and enhance peace, peace, self-concept, and well-being. Research is ongoing to better understand the effects of meditaion on health (psychological, neurological, and cardiovascular) and other areas. – Wikipedia

In spiritiual pursuit, “Meditation is to religion what the laboratory is to science.” - Paramahansa Yogananda

Meditation is a method to access the insight and wisdom which lie hidden in your Divine Nature. It is a form of spiritual training that will help you find harmony between body and mind.- Unknown

“We step and do not step in the same river, we are and are not.” Such unity is the achievement of the meditator in response to the creative spirit he discovers within himself. - Unknown

Meditation can help us embrace our worries, our fear, our anger; and that is very healing. We let our own natural capacity of healing do the work. - Thich Nhat Hanh

In advanced meditation you become light. You transcend self, ego, time, space, and dimensionality. - Frederick Lenz

Meditation has to become your heartbeat; even when you are asleep the meditation continues like an undercurrent. - Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh

Religion

I am not a fan of religions. Religion is divisive. It is one thing that the world does not need. I am quite sure religion was created to control the people.
Image from the internet

The whole religion thing is so potently infantile, so foreign to reality, that to anyone with a friendly attitude to humanity it is painful to think that the great majority of mortals will never be able to rise above this view of life. - Sigmund Freud

All dogmatic religions are false and should not be accepted by self-respecting persons as final. - Hypatia

The argument of the importance of religion in contributing to individual happiness is very much exaggerated. Whether you are happy or unhappy depends upon a number of factors. Most people need good health and enough to eat. They need not only physical health but mental health. Given all these things, most people will be happy whatever their theology. Without them, most people will be unhappy, whatever their theology. - Bertrand Russell

As long as there are those who are willing to shed blood and take innocent life in the name of religion – in the name of God – the world will never know a true and lasting peace. - Hillary Clinton

Isn’t it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too? - Douglas Adams

The Mystical Life

Image from the internet

This is the mystical life; the living of a practical and useful life in the world, ever seeking greater knowledge and understanding; helping others when the need arises, with a mind and heart uplifted and illuminated by the light of the Divine Consciousness within us.
As you attuned yourself with the Inner self, you will receive inspiration and enlightenment on how you may best utilize your abilities for the good of others. - Unknown

We can never know how greatly an individual may have changed the course of his life. We cannot know the extent of his suffering, struggling, and battling against odds that we might consider insurmountable. We can never know what he may be sacrificing. We cannot know what the Cosmic is directing him to do. Let each of us make sure that he is doing what the Master Within has pointed out for him to do. Let each live according to his own Light, doing what he feels the divine urge to do even though it be menial or casual work, seemingly unimportant and unrelated. There will be no time to note whether others are living the life as we think they should. - Unknown

The divine light residing in each of us awaits recognition and use. Its light will illuminate our mystical endeavours and trigger deeper insights into our daily affairs.

Mindfulness

Image from the internet

Mindfulness is simply being aware of what is happening right now without wishing it were different; enjoying the pleasant without holding on when it changes (which it will); being with the unpleasant without fearing it will always be this way (which it won’t). - James Baraz

When we are mindful, deeply in touch with the present moment, our understanding of what is going on deepens, and we begin to be filled with acceptance, joy, peace and love. - Thich Nhat Hanh

When our mind is calm, it reflects reality accurately, without distortion. Breathing, sitting, and walking with mindfulness calms disturbing mental formations such as anger, fear, and despair, allowing us to see reality more clearly. - Thich Nhat Hanh
